Steven N. Jones Esq., Founder & Executive Director

jones 1The Alliance to Reunite and Repair Our World, also known as A.R.R.O.W, was founded by our Executive Director, Steven N. Jones Esq. Director Jones is a Howard University graduate where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Director Jones is also a graduate of Emory University’s Candler School of Theology where he received his Master of Divinity. Finally, Director Jones is a graduate of the Cornell University Law School where he achieved his Juris Doctorate. Director Jones developed the philosophy and programs for A.R.R.O.W while researching the use of the concept of race to justify the enslavement, murder and dehumanization of Africans and the African Diaspora during the transatlantic slave trade, the implementation of race as a tool of control in American law as well as the genocide of Eastern European Jewish people during the Jewish Holocaust. Director Jones is also the founding and managing partner of Steven N. Jones & Associates LLC, Trial Lawyers. The website for his law firm is www.stevennjones.com

Lara Holland, Director of Marketing and Media Relations

Screen Shot 2015-03-10 at 8.41.53 PMLara Holland is founder and president of a food consultancy based out of Atlanta, GA.  She is an active resident of the Old 4th Ward, living and working just blocks from where the Civil Rights movement was most active.  She has over 10 years of experience in building business and re-activating communities. Lara also serves on the board for the Old 4th Ward Business Association and is a National Support Group Leader for Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE).  Lara believes strongly in building connections and bridging gaps through sharing education and resources. She has a strong strategic marketing background as a previous executive of Media News and marketing consultant in Denver, CO. Lara is a native of California. Her personal mission statement is to build a place where strengthening ethical standards leads to the highest level of personal development allowing people to come from a place of abundance.

Melanie Wofford, Chief Financial Officer

Arrow Bio 2Melanie Wofford is a community organizer, non profit consultant and she currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of A.R.R.O.W. Melanie has worked with a specific focus to the West End Community where she has served hundreds of low income families. Melanie studied at Georgia State University in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies and is currently conducting training in agribusiness development, social enterprise and nonprofit leadership. Melanie served as Development Research Specialist at Georgia State University as well as Development Consultant for the Jewish Federation. In 2010, Melanie was honored by GSU with the Community Service Award from the Golden Key Honors Society. Ms. Wofford is also the former President & founding member of the GSU Non Profit Leadership Alliance, during the same time, she was also the first award recipient of the $5,000 Next Generation Non Profit Leadership Award. She has been recognized for being a change agent received funding from the 2010 “Be the Change” Award from Sevenanda Natural Foods Cooperative. Melanie also works as a freelance consultant and distributor of the Towergarden, available under the Juice Plus Distributorship. Melanie was born in Buffalo, NY and has one son Jordan who is currently a rising senior in college.

Nashay Jones, Chief Operating Officer

Jones BioNashay Jones is a graduate of Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Additionally, Ms. Jones is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III College where she received a Master of Public Management degree. Ms. Jones is a social justice advocate who has worked for internationally renowned human rights and social justice organizations such as Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) and the Open Society Foundations (OSF).  At AIUSA, she served as the executive assistant to the executive director and worked on several campaigns, including the Troy Davis anti-death penalty campaign.  At OSF, Nashay was the program associate for the Democracy and Power Fund where she focused on youth engagement, grassroots organizing and civic engagement. Due to her experience and passion for social justice, Ms. Jones serves as the Chief Operating Officer of A.R.R.O.W and the lead coordinator of the Vanguard Unit.
